foto
Route type: Beach ride
Duration: 4 to 9 days

Total distance: 195 km / 121 miles

This horseback riding vacation offers you to spend a terrific time riding on the white sanded beaches of Mersrags and Kolka. This equestrian route will lead you through authentic fishing villages and nature parks. You will also be able to see the closed Soviet territory that wasn’t available for people during the USSR times. Because this territory was closed to visitors it has kept its natural landscape and the nature hasn’t been damaged.  The horseback riding vacation brings you to Kolka Horn and further on you will ride through a beautiful national park. Finally you get to Irbene that was surrounded with strict security during Soviet times. The security zone was created in order to protect the radio telescope system that overtook NATO announcements.

The radio telescope of Irbene is connected underground to a secret computational centre located in a secret village, where the transcription of the intercepted communication took place.
